I have to admit, I’m super excited to share some major news with all A Dash of Delicious customers and fans, but also nervous at the same time! But nerves only tend to hold us back from moving forward, and that’s what is about to happen! A Dash of Delicious will be moving to Wausau August 12th!
Yep, you read that correctly. As many of you may know, my husband and I grew up in Wausau and much of our family and our parents still live in that area. We’ve been chatting for awhile now about moving into the Wausau community to be closer to them. Earlier this month, an opportunity presented itself to me (Julie) to bake for Downtown Grocery on Third Street in Wausau, all the while continuing my own A Dash of Delicious product line and selling it in their store.
So what will happen to the bakeshop on the Square?!
We will be listing our building for sale this week but this will NOT affect the operation of A Dash of Delicious until August 12th, at which time the shop will close, Justin and I will move to Wausau, and I will bake solely at Downtown Grocery where my cookies and sweet treats will be available for purchase. I will still be available for special orders. As we will still have certain responsibilities and many friends in Stevens Point, I plan to be in Stevens Point/Plover about once a week and will happily make deliveries as needed and requested.
What if I have an order placed this summer or a wedding date reserved?
Again, this will not affect any scheduled orders, weddings, or Saturday mornings through August 12th. And if you have been thinking of placing an order for late August or into the Fall, you still can! I will continue to operate in the fully licensed commercial kitchen at Downtown Grocery. After August 12th, I do plan to transition A Dash of Delicious to focus primarily on cookies, but if you have developed a very favorite cupcake or scone, I will be happy to continue baking customers’ favorite treats!
How can I place an order?
The contact information for A Dash of Delicious will remain the same – phone number, email address, and website will be unchanged. As I do currently, I accept orders via phone or email. We are also discussing adding an e-commerce element to our website, which would allow you to order your favorites right online. I’ll definitely keep you posted as this option develops.
I know this news is quite a surprise. We have loved renovating our building on The Square and meeting and becoming friends with so many people in the community. I love seeing so many familiar faces on Saturday morning and learning what sweets make your hearts beat a bit faster! The bakeshop has been more successful than we could have ever hoped or imagined and this decision was not an easy one to make. I can only hope that you, our loyal customers, will feel free to give me a call whenever you feel the craving for a Cherry Chip Cookie, a Chocolate Earthquake Cookie, or Ginger Chewies strike, even after this summer!
